Julie Ann, one of Mrs Buckét’s hygiene operatives (cleaning), has been with us for just over two and a half years. She works closely with our client, Eden, a manufacturer in Aberdare. We caught up with Julie Ann to ask about her experience of working with us so far.
I always arrive at Eden for 8am, and the first job of the day will be to clean the offices. Here, I can communicate with the centre’s staff to check if there are any urgent requirements that need my attention, for example spillages or areas of concern.
The rest of the working day at Eden definitely has a routine that I have created for myself over the past two and a half years; I clean the canteens, staff rooms, workers and guest toilets and then finish it all off by operating the ride on floor cleaner.
My main goal each day is to maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the premises while always conducting myself in a cordial and professional manner.
I absolutely adore working with my colleague, Melody, and the staff of my current location, Eden, are a total joy to see and work with every day. I get a real sense of pride when I go above and beyond for the client and see how happy it makes them.
I appreciate the flexibility that is offered by Mrs Buckét. The senior team are very understanding and quick to implement change if and when you need it.
All of the staff members are incredibly supportive and it’s a lovely working environ-ment. I have to say that I enjoy the company of everyone I have met while working for Mrs Buckét, we’re a friendly bunch!
For a period of about six months, I found myself without a colleague. Mrs Buckét worked incredibly hard to ensure the right person filled the post because they knew how important it was, and still is, to me that, as a team, we support each other and work hard to maintain standards of excellence.
I have been awarded Employee of the Month which was a huge lift, my hard work was recognised and it was wonderful. I have also appeared on the company website in our anniversary brochure; having my picture taken in my working environment made me feel important and empowered.
Yes, completely, because I can be myself at work while still maintaining a high standard of work.
What advice would you give to a job seeker who’s thinking about joining Mrs Buckét?
I couldn’t see myself working anywhere else – go for it!
